Apple Is Copying Linux

Terminal. Homebrew. ARM chips. Privacy as a default. It was all Linux first.

Here’s something the Mac community doesn’t talk about much. I didn’t know much about it either before learning more about Linux.

A lot of what makes modern macOS feel advanced, developer-friendly, and principled was Linux culture first. Sometimes Linux technology first. Apple took it, polished it, and sold it to people who would never touch a Linux command line.

I say this as someone who uses a Mac daily and appreciates what Apple does with the interface layer. But the history is worth talking about.
