Ballad of a Virus
A silent foe, unseen, unknown,
A virus that has claimed its throne.
COVID-19, a name we fear,
A pandemic that has brought us tears.
Our world turned upside down,
Loved ones lost, our hearts now frown.
Masks and gloves, our daily fare,
Social distancing, the air we share.
But hope remains, a flickering flame,
As science fights to ease our pain.
Vaccines and treatments, day by day,
Bringing us closer to a brighter way.
So let us grieve, but not despair,
For better days we shall all share.
With unity and love's embrace,
We'll overcome this cruel virus' trace.
COVID-19, you may have won,
But our spirit will not be undone.
We'll rise again, stronger than before,
And heal the wounds that you have tore.
So let us hope, and let us pray,
For a brighter dawn, a brand new day.
When COVID-19 is but a memory,
And we can live our lives freely.
