What if you have your own domain and just did a redirect from your domain using your domain's masking service to Substack's domain without paying the $50....would that work for seo purposes?
Is it still useful to do SEO (ie worth it) if you don’t have your own custom domain? I have 2 newsletter themes, hesitant to spend £ unnecessarily. When you say link, does it make much difference if you link in a comment to either the new or old post vs within?
I figure you probably need their server information so the SEO will work, that's what you pay the $50 for. Makes sense.
