How to Increase Reading Time On Medium

This is something we all want to know, right?

Don’t get too hyped, though. I don’t have a secret formula. Because there is none.

Nevertheless, here are a couple of tricks to help with increasing the reading time on your posts. They have helped me, at least.

  1. First and very obvious is the inserting of media content into your stories. The convenient choice number 1 is images. Those are easy to find online, can fit every post, and usually increase reading time a little.

  2. Secondly, you can use GIFs similarly to images. I wouldn’t overdo it, but 1 or two are nice.

  3. Thirdly, use CTAs (call-to-actions) within your posts, like “read till the end for this”. This is a trick YouTubers use to keep viewers on the video longer. It works for articles too.
