I started using Substack three years ago to write my newsletter because it was the easiest platform to write and publish on. Being the easiest made it possible for me to stay consistent and publish every week for three years. And that was the most important part for me.
Love Substack and want it to work for a SaaS company's branded content, but am concerned about not getting the SEO credit and having the URL off the main domain.

Would you recommend Substack for a SaaS company's blog/resource center? No intention of charging for the content.
Interesting. I could see that yes. What are the alternatives? Wordpress? Maybe even Medium? Ghost?
I think there are two categories:
1) Networks like Substack and Medium
2) Owned like WordPress and Ghost

You can connect a custom subdomain to Substack. And SEO works fine.
