How to use Substack as a blog, SEO, pros and cons, and a few tips and tricks
I understand that as a pure blog, Substack may be lacking in SEO & customization features.
For me personally, I find Substack excellent (like a 9/10) for blogging & long form content.
I find their email newsletter function the most underwhelming.
Have you heard of anyone combined Substack with an email newsletter (e.g. Kit, MailerLite, Email Octopus)?
Ah I see.
I used to combine Substack with Emal Octopus to get some automations. It’s a cool service.
Did you like use 3rd party intergrations like Make or Zapier and got it rolling? Did you send out email newsletters from both platforms or one?
Considering one of 3 options. Either:
1. Use all of Substack but treat my publication as if you were sending out an email. This involves a change in content strategy.
2. Treat my Substack as a blog and use an email list provider for an email list. I don't change content strategy (mostly writing) in the process
3. Leave Substack altogether and move the blog writing to a site I've built and email list elsewhere.
