Letters by Burk #149: Notification Overload
Also, AI images, Medium money, Cliqly, fall, and more
Hi friends,
I recently stated one of the key things I did on Substack. This sparked quite the conversation on Substack Notes (where I posted the idea).
It revolves around notifications for subscribers. What are your thoughts on this one:

3 Cool Tools for Whipping Up AI Images in a Flash
Letās face it: weāre living in a world where AI is no longer just a sci-fi dream.
Itās here, itās real, and itās seriously shaking things up ā especially when it comes to creating images and video.
As someone whoās spent quite a bit of time tinkering with these tools, Iām excited to share my take on three of my favorite platforms right now to quickly generate images of photos for blog posts, social media entries, and more.
Letās go.

#2 Medium
Is Medium Still Worth It
I get that question a lot.
Medium has changed quite a bit since I started in February 2021. In my best months, I made north of $2000. That was a gold rush.
Now, it is much more difficult to get going on Medium, in my eyes.
You can take many courses about Medium. But of the many courses, there are only a few left that can really help you earn substantially on Medium.
I took a few back in the day. Some were bad, a couple were good. One is the best, and still going strong years later.
Without a doubt, this best course starts with the Medium Masterclass by Sinem GĆ¼nel, a free intro course where youāll learn:
Why most people fail to build an audience online.
What the top 1% of Medium writers do differently in 2024
The step-by-step process to grow your audience and make money online
How to write Boost-worthy stories (the real money-makers)
and more
This masterclass only takes place once a year. And itās that time again now!
So, if youāre on Medium or planning to try it, this free masterclass is a no-brainer!

What Exactly Is Cliqly and Is It Legit?
Cliqly has been generating quite a buzz in 2023 and 2024.
You may have seen the success stories on TikTok, showing people making thousands within their first few weeks on the platform.
But what exactly is Cliqly, and how does it enable people to earn such high commissions?
More importantly, is it legit?
Letās break down everything you need to know about this Cliqly.
What is Cliqly?
Essentially, Cliqly is an all-in-one email marketing and affiliate platform. It provides users with pre-written email templates, a subscriber list to send those emails to, and affiliate links within the email content that pay you money whenever someone clicks.
#4 Fun Facts
Here are 10 fun facts about Fall:
The term "fall" originated from the Old English phrase "fall of the leaf," but it's primarily used in North American English. Most other English-speaking countries prefer "autumn."
Ancient Celtic priests believed the world was in between years during the autumn equinox and considered it a magical time when the laws of space and time were suspended.
The male Autumn Meadowhawk dragonfly turns a bright crimson red during fall - one of the few insects that changes color with the season.
While we typically associate harvest moons with autumn, the harvest moon (the full moon closest to the autumn equinox) can actually occur in September or October.
Birds that migrate by day, like hawks and falcons, rely on thermal air currents that only form over land during autumn migration. This is why these raptors don't typically migrate across large bodies of water.
The autumn crocus (Colchicum autumnale) is one of the few flowers that blooms in fall but sets its leaves in spring - the opposite of most plants.
Studies have shown that women tend to experience more intense romantic feelings and attraction during the autumn months, possibly due to the association with declining light and the need for companionship.
Fall babies, particularly those born in November, are more likely to live to be 100 years old, according to a study published in the Journal of Aging Research.
Autumn is when spiders tend to be most visible indoors not because they're seeking warmth, but because it's mating season and male spiders are actively searching for mates.
Trees drop their leaves in autumn primarily because the process requires too much energy during winter months, not because of the cold itself - some trees in tropical areas also shed leaves during dry seasons.
