WWDC25 gave us a lot. More than I expected, really.
Apple’s new “Liquid Glass” design, very cool iPadOS upgrades that turn iPads more into laptops, WatchOS news, and an awesome upgrade for Spotlight that should make the team at Raycast pretty nervous.
But there’s also a lot I miss.
The demos were shiny or should I say… glassy.
But where are the latest improvements for people who use Macs to get real work done? Or do things on iOS that we can still NOT do on Mac.
Here’s what I miss most.
Missing Native Apps
For crying out loud, I don’t understand why Apple isn’t finally porting some of their own, well-designed, and already iPad-ready apps to the Mac?
Apps like Health and Fitness.
This should be a no-brainer. They’re designed to work with larger screen. They can be easily ported to the Mac.
Apple wants to give us “a seamless experience across devices,” but forgot to invite half the native apps to the Mac party.
I use the Fitness app a ton, and I’d love to check results on my Mac. Or workout in Fitness+ while viewing on the Mac.
But no.
AI Options
Apple’s ChatGPT integration is a nice toe-dip into the AI pool. And it’s pretty necessary, considering Siri’s shortcomings.
But where’s the Gemini integration everyone was talking about before WWDC25?
I’d love to have the kind of native ChatGPT integration around the Apple OSes for Gemini or even others like Claude, too.
Mail…
And then there’s Mail. Good ol’ Mail.
I am one of those people who still use Apple Mail. No Gmail, no Outlook. Just Apple Mail and iCloud.
And it’s enough for me.
Mail has gotten better over the years. Apple Intelligence works fine with it, but I’d just love to see a bit more innovation in Apple Mail.
And some error fixing. Syncing mail notifications has never worked great, in my experience. You archive mails on Mac, but the notifications keep persistent on the iPhone lock screen.
Details matter.

The Bottom Line
WWDC25 delivered some exciting changes. It always does.
But under the shiny hood, I’d love to see some more small changes, updates, and innovations.
Native personal apps like Health, Fitness. Let us choose our AI apps. And please, for the love of good UX, bug-fix and update Mail.
The pieces are all there. Connect them.
