The tool
This website builder is perfect for beginners as it is easy to use, quick to learn (with great documentation), and highly customizable.
Meet Carrd.
With Carrd, you can start building a website in no time without creating an account first.
If you like the result, sign-up and publish your site with a Carrd subdomain for free. Most customization options and many templates are available on the free plan. You’ll never have to pay anything.
Pro users
For advanced users, however, Carrd also offers well-rounded pro plans which include custom domain integration, embeds for various tools like Gumroad products, forms via Typeform, Stripe, PayPal, and more.
You also get access to advanced styling and coding options like HTML IDs and classes, custom meta tags, Google Analytics integration, favicons, widgets, slideshows, and even redirects or password protection.
Paid plans
Now, you might be thinking those pro plans will cost a fortune. They don’t!
You can select between three pro plan options:
Pro Lite which is the least interesting. It removes the Carrd branding, lifts the limit on blocks you can create, adds slideshows and favicons. This plan costs $9 per year. Right, per YEAR. Not month. Try finding something similar for that price.
Next, you’ll see the Pro Standard plan. Here, it’s getting fascinating. On Pro Standard, you can connect custom domains, create up to 10 websites, get access to pro templates, integrate widgets, embeds, and forms, connect Google Analytics, and add meta tags. This is comprehensive. And it will only cost you $19 per year. That’s less than $2 per month. Again, try finding this somewhere else.
At the top is the Pro Plus plan. This knocks it out of the part with 25 sites, advanced forms (including integration with Zapier, Make, and apps like Airtable), code embeds, password protection, custom styles, JavaScript events, and more. All of this for $49 per year.
You can try pro for 7 days.
The bottom line
Carrd isn’t an option to create a blog or a shop. Complexity is limited.
But if you’re looking for a customizable option to design a landing page (or multiple), a link in bio site, or a portfolio, I can’t think of a more flexible, easy to use, free tool than Carrd.
Furthermore, the paid options are more affordable than any other platform I’ve come across so far, easily beating link in bio platforms like Linktree or simple website builders.
For $19 a year, you’ll get most of what you need to run a well-designed website with the option to connect a custom domain.
Try Carrd for free and without creating an account.
