Whispers on Winter's Breath
Bones like branches stark and bare,
Love that hangs on by a prayer. Whispers thin,
a moonlit scene,
Two souls adrift, not quite serene.
Fingers trace a faded song,
Lyrics hum where they belong.
Memories painted, bittersweet,
Of laughter lost, and stolen heat.
Come on, skinny love, just last the year,
But the echo fades, lost in the fear.
Promises like leaves they fall,
And winter winds begin to call.
Paper hearts, they tear and mend,
But cracks are hard to transcend.
Footsteps falter, paths divide,
Leaving scars the morning's tide
Won't erase. Aching still,
The echoes of a fragile thrill.
Skinny love, a fading line,
Lost in whispers, left behind.
